Wow, Jim here. It's hard to believe, we made it. It was less than 5 months after we ordered tubing until the car was done and loaded in the trailer. I can't wait 'til the 26th and getting to drive it.
I owe so many thanks to so many people. I have been trying to find an appropriate order to list the many people who have helped so much. I can't find an appropriate order to list the many people I want to thank, so here goes in no particular order: John Cole for providing the inspiration for us. He was always there to lend a hand and to make helpful suggestions, and to keep things interesting. Dean Carver for opening his shop every week, arranging for students to TIG it together, welding on it himself when the need arose, and for always being so positive. He never let on that I was imposing, but I had to be. Dave Medlin for the many hours spent plasma cutting parts or grinding on whatever needed grinding. The entire Tuesday night crew for all the suggestions, encouragement, and comaraderie. And of course, the brains of the entire operation, P.J. for 5 months striaight of Tuesday nights spent working on the car after working all day and hurrying from Santa Ana, often leaving work early to spend more time on my car, desinging his frame and being so happy with it and saying repeatedly that I had to have one, for putting up with me when things wern't going well, and especially giving up the last three weekends during the final push. Melissa for being so understanding as I monopolized so much of her fiancee's time, and for being so understanding during the entire project. And finally, Nancy for showing patience beyond all reasonable limits, for letting me have the entire garage, for the last four weeks, which meant she had to scrape snow and ice off her car before leaving for work at 5:00 A.M each moring, for letting me store parts in the living room, hall, office, bathroom, and office, and most of all for her support of the new car in general.
